In June of this year the internationally known name Planet Hollywood, announced it's intention to launch a new branding division to develop hotel and vacation ownership properties all over the world.

Their first endevor with this type of development was the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, previously the Alladin property. The hotel and casino was a joint venture between Starwood hotels (owners of such brand as Westin and the W) and Planet Hollywood and was started before Planet Hollywood made the public decision to launch their new brand. This project has been more than 4 years in the making, phase one opening in September of 2007, while construction is to continue into 2009. This property boasts amazing innovation, even for the strip, and luxury that a guest can only find in the newest of the the Las Vegas star resorts, as well as the fun of hollywood memorabillia in every room and throughout the property. I had the priveledge of being able to contribute to the design of the guestrooms back in 2006 which was part of the Grand Opening and the first phase of contruction. It was the overall success of this property that Planet Hollywood credits with the main reason of launching their new department, hoping to contribute the same quality to several more properties around the world. The most recent was the announcement of the Planet Hollywood Towers also in Las Vegas, a partnership between Planet Hollywood and Westgate Resorts. Once completed, this resort will be the only vacation ownership property attached to a Las Vegas Resort and Casino (the existing Planet Hollywood) allowing guests to take advantage of double the amenities including over 140 shops and 12 premium restaurants.
